Oxymels are a medicinal tonic suspended in apple cider vinegar for 4-6 weeks, blended with raw honey. During this period of time the acv extracts all of the medicinal and healing properties from the infusion, leaving you with a potent herbal elixir. This old herbal folk remedy is used especially during the cold and flu season(just like fire cider!) for a daily immune boosting preventative. It's anti-bacterial, increases digestive enzyme production, and improves blood circulation.
In this make + take workshop we will be covering all the different botanicals and how they work together as food + medicine for your body. All ingredients, supplies, and recipe cards are included. You will go home with your very own 32 oz Winter Solstice Oxymel infusion, and the knowledge on how to craft it yourself. We will be utilizing a variety of herbs, berries, and spices that make beautiful yule/winter plant companions. Each of these ingredients play their own part (key, balancing, supporting, etc.) to create the final herbal tonic.
You’ll be able to enjoy the finished oxymel by the spoonful as a digestive + immune boosting aid, incorporated into glazes, vinaigrettes, and marinades; or sipped as a refreshing warm beverage, or over ice with some sparkling water! This oxymel will be a powerful plant ally to integrate into your daily rituals during the cold winter months.
Come Join me in my little apothecary so we can create plant magic together!
