This is our very first not only handmade paper workshop, but a pulp painting workshop! Come create and paint with paper.
In this class you will learn the history of handmade paper, a variety of pulp possibilities, how to sheet form, fiber + pigment chemistry, stencil pulp painting technique + get to sheet form and create your very own pulp painted monarch butterfly. A piece of art to symbolize Ogden’s creative art district.
Pulp Painting is an aspect of papermaking that highlights paper’s potential as a medium. Finely beaten pulp can act just like paint to make many creations with handmade paper. When dried, the painting is an actual part of the paper!
Each participants pulp painting will be dried flat in our dry box and available for pickup the following week. A beautiful piece of art you can add to any space! All supplies included.
